Georgia Economic Outlook 2009
The Selig Center forecast offered a grim assessment of the Georgia economy, predicting a recession that will be “severe rather than mild and prolonged rather than short,” according to Dean Robert T. Sumichrast of UGA’s Terry College of Business. “I believe that the first and second quarters of 2009 will be dreadful. Just how dreadful depends on when, and to what degree, the credit markets thaw.”

Adams gave members of University Council an update on UGA’s budget Thursday, Dec. 4 in wake of recent actions by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents to help meet an anticipated directive from state officials to increase the budget cut to 8 percent from the current 6 percent. Family Day: Holiday Creations
Come to the Georgia Museum of Art to hear carols by the Meridian Women's Chorus, then go to the classroom to make some decorations for the holidays. Treats follow at the café. The event is Dec. 6 from 10 a.m.-noon. For more information, contact Jenny Collard.
